Scrumptious Saturdays #4 - Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Cookies

There is nothing more classic than a choc chip cookie, and while I was obsessing over a blog called A Beautiful Mess, this one really called out to me. I think it's because it has sea salt, and I am a huge fan of salt paired with chocolate.

This is the recipe -

3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp bicarb soda
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups softened butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups dark choc chips
2 tbsp coarse grain sea salt

Using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue to beat until combined. In another bowl whisk the flour bicarb soda, baking powder, and salt. (not the coarse sea salt, that's just for topping afterwards). Stir the flour mixture and the butter mixture together. Once just incorporated, add choc chips and and stir until just combined. Spoon onto a tray lined with baking paper and bake in the oven at 180°C for 16-18 minutes or until the edges are browned.

I can't wait to try this new twist of a choc chip cookie, and I'm sure they will taste delicious!

Au Revoir xx
